Specialist Programme Contexts

Adapted programmes for secondary education and informal schools

Beyond EPPS, we deliver adapted programmes for specific educational contexts. All specialist programmes follow the same fundamental pathway structure (foundational preparation → intensive training → sustained development through PLCs) and apply TPA methodology adapted to their specific contexts.

SEED: STEM Education Enhancement and Development

SEED serves secondary school teachers, using CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) to strengthen STEM teaching methodology. The programme employs constructivist, experiential approaches, with STEM content delivered in English.

Programme Focus

  • Integrating English language development with STEM content teaching
  • Constructivist approaches to science and mathematics
  • Experiential learning methodologies
  • Laboratory and practical skills development

Scale and Impact

Our coaches work with teachers across secondary schools in Siem Reap, impacting approximately 100,000 students. SEED was piloted in 2023-2024 and is now scaling across the province.

ITTSR: Interactive Teacher Training Siem Reap

ITTSR addresses a widespread Cambodian pattern: young people with minimal training teach English in NGO schools and community organisations. These teachers often have some English knowledge but no pedagogical training, limiting their effectiveness and their students’ learning.

Programme Structure

  • One semester programme (20 weeks)
  • Saturday or Sunday mornings, four hours per session
  • 15 topics covering essential pedagogical skills
  • Interactive methods including role-plays, observation tasks, and reflective discussions

Topics Covered

The programme provides basic pedagogical training across essential areas: lesson planning, classroom management, questioning techniques, activity design, error correction, assessment basics, and student engagement strategies.

Pathway to Formal Employment

Many ITTSR graduates progress to contract positions in public schools, bringing improved methodology into the formal system. The programme thus serves as both an immediate quality improvement for informal education and a pipeline for developing teachers who may later join the public sector.
